History

Maxxon 1975

In 1975, George Chon founded Maxxon Inflatables in Kent, Washington. Maxxon made inflatables of legendary durability, sold at reasonable prices.

Catcher Craft 2011

In 2011, Ken Rambow and David Duvall founded Catcher Craft frames in Ken’s garage in North Bend, Washington. Ken and David designed and built raft and cataraft frames for fishing the rivers of the Pacific Northwest. Catcher Craft frames were sold together with inflatables made by other companies, primarily Maxxon.

GR8 Outdoors 2025

In 2025, Maxxon Inflatables and Catcher Craft Frames were acquired by Bainbridge Island, Washington-based GR8 Outdoors. GR8 Outdoors took the same time-tested Maxxon Inflatables, added innovation to make them even better suited for fishing and hunting, and branded them Catcher Craft. We also moved to a modular frame system to make the frames easier to customize and transport.
